Our Story
The story behind Plus One Global began with God's grace.
“That could have been you… but I have given you grace.”
Every organization has a beginning. Plus One Global began with God's grace. If someone had told our founder years ago that she would one day establish a nonprofit organization, she probably would have laughed and said, "Absolutely not!" Yet God had a different plan.
In one of the darkest seasons of her life, our founder was overwhelmed by depression, trauma, fear, guilt, shame, and hopelessness. Although she believed in God and faithfully served in ministry, she had not yet come to understand the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In November 2022, she reached her breaking point.
By God's grace, her then-fiancé, Success Cletus Okolo, recognized the crisis and intervened. He patiently walked beside her and began teaching the true Gospel of Jesus Christ, not religion, not performance, but grace. For the first time, she began to understand who she was in Christ and what His finished work on the cross truly meant. One by one, the chains of trauma, fear, guilt, shame, and hopelessness began to break.
Jesus did not simply save her; He restored her. As God restored her heart, He placed a burden within her for other women. She began praying with them, studying Scripture together, encouraging them, and reminding them of who they are in Christ. Watching God restore lives became one of the greatest joys of her life.
God gave her a dream. She saw herself wearing pink while everyone around her was dressed in white. They were praying, worshipping, crying, and being set free from the burdens they had carried for years. When she asked God what to call this vision, she heard two simple words in her spirit: "Plus One."
"Lord… Plus One? What does that even mean?" Then came the answer: He is the Plus One. The moment she understood, she shouted, "JESUS!" No matter what we face in life, Jesus is the Plus One; our hope, our strength, our peace, our healer, our provider, our Savior. He is everything we could ever need.
While traveling to Nigeria, she saw a young girl who was pregnant, about the same age as her own daughter. Learning about her circumstances broke her heart. That moment confirmed what God had already placed within her heart: Plus One Global could not simply preach the Gospel; it had to demonstrate the Gospel through action.
